In mweaastronomia, si dice mweqcubewano un qualsiasi oggetto roccioso della mwegfascia di Kuiper che orbita attorno al mwewSole a più di 41 mwfaunità astronomiche di distanza media, con bassa eccentricità e che non presenta fenomeni di mwfqrisonanza orbitale con i mwfgpianeti del mwfwsistema solare esterno. Sono anche chiamati mwgaoggetti classici della fascia di Kuiper (o KBO classici).
Il bizzarro nome ha avuto origine dal primo mwggoggetto transnettuniano scoperto, mwgw(15760) 1992 QB1 (Albion).cite-ref-1[1] Gli oggetti successivi vennero chiamati "QB1-os", o mwiqcubewanos, traducendo foneticamente la sigla in inglese. Il termine è successivamente entrato nell'uso comune nelle diverse lingue.
Il 1º gennaio 2019 la sonda spaziale mwlqNew Horizons ha raggiunto il cubewano mwlgArrokoth.

Classificazione
I cubewani vengono classificati in prima istanza in base al fatto che la loro orbita sia marcatamente perturbata (mwmqcubewani caldi) o non perturbata (mwmgcubewani freddi).
Più in dettaglio:
• mwngcubewani caldi - hanno orbite con inclinazioni elevate (>5°), con una maggiore eccentricità;
